Waterfiends are mid-level Slayer creatures found in the Ancient Cavern and the Chaos Tunnels. They are known for their high hitpoints, aggressive nature, and the crimson charms they drop, which are crucial for summoning training.

Gear Setup
- Weapon: Use Ranged equipment for effective kills. A crossbow, Karil’s crossbow, or a blowpipe with high Ranged bonuses are recommended.
- Armor: Wear armor with good Ranged defensive stats to reduce damage. Karil’s or Void Knight equipment is commonly used.
- Ammunition: Bring plenty of high-level ammunition like broad-tipped bolts or darts for the blowpipe.
- Food: High-healing food like sharks, monkfish, or anglerfish are necessary.
- Prayer: Protect from Melee or Protect from Missiles prayers can be helpful to reduce incoming damage.
- Bonecrusher: If you have the Bonecrusher, it can automatically bury the bones Waterfiends drop, providing passive Prayer experience.
Killing Waterfiends:
- Access the Ancient Cavern:
- Enter the Ancient Cavern via the whirlpool at the Baxtorian Falls. The quest Barbarian Training (partially completed) is required to access the cavern.
- Location:
- Waterfiends are found on the bottom floor of the Ancient Cavern, in the “Waterbirth Island Dungeon.” They can be accessed by climbing down the rope next to the whirlpool entrance.
- Engage in Combat:
- Attack the Waterfiends using your Ranged weapon. Use Protect from Missiles prayer to reduce incoming damage.
- Looting:
- Waterfiends drop various items, including crimson charms, water orbs, and valuable alchables. Be sure to pick up valuable drops and bones if you don’t have the Bonecrusher.
Additional Tips:
- Waterfiends are aggressive, so be prepared for multiple attacks.
- Crimson charms are a common drop and can be collected for Summoning training.
- If you have completed the Morytania Hard Diary, you can use the Barrows Teleport to get to the cavern more quickly.
- Pay attention to your Prayer points and health. Waterfiends have a rapid attack rate, and it’s essential to maintain your health and Prayer to sustain longer trips.
Killing Waterfiends can be quite profitable and is a great way to train Ranged and gather valuable drops. Remember that this area is multi-combat, so be prepared for multiple Waterfiends attacking you at once.
