The Corsair Curse is a quest in Old School RuneScape (OSRS) that was released on March 7, 2019. It is a novice-level quest that can be started by speaking to Captain Tock in the Corsair Cove, located on the southern coast of Feldip Hills. This guide will walk you through the steps to complete the Corsair Curse quest in OSRS.

Requirements

Before embarking on the Corsair Curse quest, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  1. Skill Requirements:
    • None, the quest has no skill requirements.
  2. Item Requirements:
    • A bucket (obtainable during the quest).
    • A spade (obtainable during the quest).
    • A vial of water (obtainable during the quest).
    • A pestle and mortar (obtainable during the quest).
    • 10 bananas (obtainable during the quest).
  3. Other Requirements:
    • You must be able to defeat a combat level 35 monster.

Starting the Quest

To begin the Corsair Curse quest, follow these steps:

  1. Travel to Corsair Cove: You can reach Corsair Cove by using a skills necklace to teleport to the Farming Guild and then walking south or by using the fairy ring code CIS and walking west.
  2. Speak to Captain Tock: Find Captain Tock near the bank in Corsair Cove and talk to him. He will tell you about a curse affecting his crew and ask for your help.

Solving the Corsair Curse

Now that you’ve started the quest, follow these steps to solve the Corsair Curse:

1. Investigate the Crew

Captain Tock will give you a captain’s log and ask you to investigate the members of his crew. Talk to the following crew members:

  • First Mate Davey: He can be found near the bank. Ask him about the curse.
  • Bosun Higgs: Speak to him near the ship. He will give you a red herring.
  • Navigator Jemi: She’s near the farming patch. She will give you a blue herring.
  • **Deckhand: Speak to him near the water. He will give you a yellow herring.
  • **Gunslick: Speak to him near the cannons. He will give you a green herring.

2. Analyze the Herring

Use a pestle and mortar to grind each of the four herrings into a powder. Then, combine them to create a multicolored herring powder.

3. Confront Captain Tock

Show the multicolored herring powder to Captain Tock, and he will confess to the curse. He will then ask you to find a way to lift the curse.

4. Obtain Banana Mixture

Captain Tock will instruct you to find the witch named Maggie who can lift the curse. She will require a banana mixture. To obtain it:

  • Go to the banana plantation on the eastern side of the Cove.
  • Pick 10 bananas from the trees.

5. Prepare the Banana Mixture

Use a bucket, a spade, and a vial of water on the banana pile near the trees to create a banana mush.

6. Visit Maggie

Take the banana mush to Maggie, the witch who resides in the house on the west side of Corsair Cove. She will create a potion to lift the curse.

7. Cure the Crew

Return to Captain Tock and give him the potion from Maggie. The curse will be lifted, and the quest is complete!

Completing the Corsair Curse quest in OSRS rewards you with the following:

  • 2 Quest Points
  • 2,000 coins
  • Access to Corsair Cove
  • The ability to purchase the Corsair Curse Barrelchest cosmetic override from Davey on the ship.
