Lava Dragons are powerful red-scaled creatures inhabiting the Lava Maze within the Wilderness. These dragons are unique for their ability to drop both the Lava dragon bones and Lava dragon scales, which can be used to create powerful, high-level equipment.

Gear Setup
- Weapon: A strong melee weapon like a whip, scimitar, or Godsword is recommended. Magic and Ranged can also be used but are less common for killing Lava Dragons.
- Armor: Wear armor with good defensive stats to reduce incoming damage. Dragonhide or Barrows equipment is useful, and if you’re using melee, Barrows armor can be beneficial.
- Food: Bring high-healing food like sharks, manta rays, or anglerfish.
- Antifire Protection: A Dragonfire Shield, Anti-Dragon Shield, or Protect from Magic prayer is essential to protect against the Lava Dragon’s dragonfire attacks.
- Emergency Teleports: Always carry an emergency teleport like an Amulet of Glory or a charged Dragonstone Amulet to escape danger.
Requirements:
- Slayer level 33 is required to be assigned Lava Dragons as a Slayer task.
- It’s highly recommended to have a high Combat level and strong gear for protection in the dangerous Wilderness environment.
Killing Lava Dragons:
- Accept Your Slayer Task:
- Ensure you have an active task from your Slayer master that involves killing Lava Dragons.
- Location:
- Lava Dragons are found on the Lava Dragon Isle, which is in level 36 Wilderness. You can access it through a small bridge near the Lava Maze, north of the Chaos Temple.
- Engage in Combat:
- Attack the Lava Dragons using your chosen combat style. Melee is the most common choice for efficiency and protection. Be cautious of other players, as this is a popular player-killing (PKing) area.
- Looting:
- Lava Dragons drop valuable items, including Lava Dragon Bones (used for Prayer training), dragon bones, and rune items. Be sure to pick up valuable drops and bring them to a bank as needed.
Additional Tips:
- Watch out for player killers (PKers) in the area. Lava Dragon Isle is a hot spot for PKing, so be prepared to flee or teleport away if attacked.
- Be mindful of your Prayer points and health. Use Protect from Magic and high-healing food when needed.
- Lava Dragon Bones are a valuable drop and can be used for training Prayer, so consider bringing bone-crushing items like the Bonecrusher to automatically bury the bones.
