OSRS F2P Crafting Guide

osrs free to play crafting guide

Crafting is a vital skill in Old School RuneScape (OSRS), allowing players to create a variety of items, from armor to jewelry. Whether you’re a new player or a seasoned adventurer looking to level up your crafting skills, this guide will walk you through the ins and outs of Free-to-Play (F2P) crafting training in OSRS.

Introduction to Crafting

Crafting is the skill that enables you to turn raw materials into useful items. In F2P, this typically involves working with leather, glass, and clay. To begin your crafting journey, you’ll need some basic materials, such as leather or clay, which can be obtained by killing monsters or mining.

Essential Crafting Tools

Before diving into training, ensure you have the essential crafting tools:

  • Needle: Used to sew leather items.
  • Thread: Essential for sewing.
  • Chisel: Required for carving gemstones.
  • Moulds: For shaping gold and silver jewelry.
  • Glassblowing Pipe: Used to blow molten glass into various items.

Crafting Methods

Leather Crafting

Leather crafting is one of the most accessible F2P methods. Start by collecting cowhide from cows and then head to a crafting table with a needle and some thread. Craft items like gloves, boots, and bodies for experience points. As you level up, unlock the ability to craft higher-level leather items.

Pottery Crafting

Pottery crafting involves shaping clay into useful items such as clay pots or bowls. Mine clay in places like the South-east Varrock mine and use the clay on a potter’s wheel and oven to create items. This method provides valuable crafting experience for lower-level players.

Gem Cutting

At level 20 crafting, you can cut uncut gems obtained from mining into polished gems. Use a chisel on uncut gems to create items like sapphire rings or amulets. This method provides a steady source of experience and potential profit.

Glassblowing

Once you reach level 1 crafting, you can start glassblowing. Collect soda ash and buckets of sand, then use them on a furnace to create molten glass. Use a glassblowing pipe to craft various glass items like vials, orbs, or lantern lenses.
