A Dust Devil is one of Runescapes many slayer monsters. They can be damaged when the player has reached level 65 slayer. However, you must have a slayer helmet or facemask equiped to fight them, as they use clouds of dust and sand which will blind their victims without proper protection.
With use of Bursting or Barraging in the Catacombs the Dust Devil slayer tasks can provide some of the best and most efficient slayer and magic experience in the game.
Locations to kill Dust Devils in OSRS?
There is three locations around OSRS to kill Dust Devils. They are as follows:
- Smoke Dungeon
- Catacombs of Kourend
- Wilderness Slayer Cave
The wilderness slayer cave is not advised. Obviously as it is in the wilderness you are at risk of being killed from other players. Losing items and time.
If you want to AFK with melee then the Smoke Dungeon is the best place as level 93 Dust Devils are found here in comparison to level 110 Dust Devils in the Catacombs. The Catacombs is the best place to go if using magic as it is a multi-combat area.
Dust Devil Gear Setup
Mage Setup

For magic setups, bring as much magic damage boosting equipment as possible. But, if there is nothing that can boost magic damage for that slot that you can bring, then it is best to maximise prayer boosting equipment. This is why if you do not own ancestral you should bring proselyte.
Dust Devils have 0 magical defence so armour that only provides accuracy and not a damage boost (Ahrims or Mystics) is pointless.
