OSRS Cave Crawler Guide

osrs Cave Crawler guide

Old School RuneScapeoffers a plethora of adventures and creatures to encounter, and one such enigmatic creature is the Cave Crawler. These bizarre, scuttling beasts are found in various caves throughout the game and are known for their unique drops and challenges they present to players.

Cave Crawler Gear Setup

  • Weapon: A melee weapon, such as a dscim (Dragon Scimitar) or whip, is effective for killing Cave Crawlers. Alternatively, you can use ranged or magic.
  • Armor: Wear armor that provides good defensive stats. Dragonhide or Karil’s crossbow can be good choices if ranging.
  • Light Source: A light source is needed in the Lumbridge Swamp Caves.
  • Food: Bring some food, such as sharks or monkfish, for healing during the task.
  • Antipoison: Cave Crawlers can inflict poison, so it’s advisable to bring antipoison potions or Serpentine helmet if you have it.

Location:

Cave Crawlers can be found in the following locations:

  • Lumbridge Swamp Caves, near Lumbridge.
  • Dorgesh-Kaan South Dungeon, which requires completing the quest “Death to the Dorgeshuun” to access.

Killing Cave Crawlers:

  1. Equip your chosen gear, including a light source if you’re in the Lumbridge Swamp Caves.
  2. Attack the Cave Crawlers with your preferred combat style. If you’re using melee, use Protect from Melee prayer to reduce incoming damage.
  3. Be aware that Cave Crawlers can poison you, so pay attention to your health and use antipoison as needed.
  4. Collect the drops. Cave Crawlers drop various items, including herbs, seeds, and the valuable “Cave Crawler” Slayer experience.

Cave Crawler Drops:

Cave Crawlers have several drops, including:

  • Herbs (guams, tarromins, etc.): Used for Herblore.
  • Seeds (limpwurt, ranarr, and more): Used for Farming.
  • Nature runes and other runes.
  • Coins.
  • “Cave Crawler” Slayer experience, which is obtained as a drop during a Slayer task.

Additional Tips:

  • Cave Crawlers can be assigned as a Slayer task, so if you’re on a task, you’ll receive Slayer experience and an increased chance of valuable drops.
  • The Dorgesh-Kaan South Dungeon requires completion of the quest “Death to the Dorgeshuun” to access, and it contains a higher level of Cave Crawlers with different drops.

Killing Cave Crawlers is a relatively low-level Slayer task in OSRS, making it accessible to players with lower combat stats. The primary appeal of killing Cave Crawlers is the chance of valuable herb and seed drops, especially when on a Slayer task. Be sure to bring the appropriate gear and supplies to maximize your efficiency.
