Banshees are undead monsters found in several locations across OSRS. They are known for their distinct and haunting cries, which can lower the combat stats of unwary adventurers. These creatures are assigned as Slayer tasks and can be challenging foes for lower-level players due to their special attacks.
Banshee Gear Setup
- Weapon: You can use any weapon you prefer, as Banshees are not very strong. Melee, ranged, and magic are all effective. Popular options include darts, throwing knives, or a Slayer staff for using the “Magic Dart” spell.
- Armor: Wear the best armor available to you, depending on your chosen combat style. Slayer helmet (if available) or earmuffs are essential for blocking their scream attack.
- Food: While Banshees are not particularly tough, it’s a good idea to bring some food, especially if you’re a lower-level player.
- Earmuffs: Banshees have a special scream attack that can reduce your stats. You need earmuffs or a Slayer helmet to block this effect. Make sure you’re wearing one.
- Antipoison: Some Banshees can poison you. Bringing an antipoison potion or Serpentine helm can be helpful.
Location:
Banshees can be found in several locations in OSRS, but the most common location for killing Banshees is the Slayer Tower.
There are two types of Banshees in the Slayer Tower: regular Banshees and Twisted Banshees, with Twisted Banshees requiring a higher Slayer level and having different drop tables.
Killing Banshees:
- Locate Banshees in the Slayer Tower or another designated location.
- Equip your earmuffs or Slayer helmet to block their scream attack.
- Attack the Banshees using your chosen combat style.
- Collect the drops. Banshees drop various items, including herbs, runes, and noted herbs if you are on a Slayer task.
Banshee Drops:
Banshees have a few notable drops, including:
- Herbs (guams, tarromins, etc.): Used for Herblore.
- Nature runes, chaos runes, death runes, and other runes.
- Coins.
- Weapons, armor, and other low-value items.
Additional Tips:
- Banshees can sometimes be assigned as Slayer tasks, and if you’re on a task, you’ll receive more Slayer experience and an increased chance of valuable drops. Make sure to use your Slayer helm or earmuffs for these tasks.
- Twisted Banshees, found in the Catacombs of Kourend, require a Slayer level of 89 and have different drop tables, including the chance to drop a “Brimstone key,” which can be used to open the Brimstone chest for various rewards.
Killing Banshees is a relatively low-level Slayer task in OSRS, making it accessible to players with lower combat stats. The primary appeal of killing Banshees is the chance of valuable herb drops and other items, especially when on a Slayer task.
